Independent Collectors

A Travel Companion to access private art

What started off as an ambitious task back in 2012 to gather a world-wide list of the most exciting art collections, resulted in unique book that would radically increase the accessibility of private art to the general public.

THE BMW ART GUIDE by INDEPENDENT COLLECTORS is a travel guide that exceeds the common idea of traveling. In a time we value personal encounters more than ever, this book should encourage you to go out into this world – physically or imaginatively – and experience it through the lens of contemporary art. Over 300 inspiring private collections are waiting to be discovered in the vibrant metropolises of Europe and Africa, in Asian megacities and tranquil American provinces, and from the heights of the Swiss Alps to the depths of the Norwegian fjords.
