The industrialist Joop van Caldenborgh acquired his first artwork as a teenager. His collection of modern and contemporary art is now considered one of the most important in the world and forms the base of Museum ≠Voorlinden. The 4,000-square-meter exhibition space is located on the beautiful estate of Voorlinden in Wassenaar, conveniently located near The Hague and 25 ≠minutes away from Schiphol airport. In the stylish daylight museum youíll discover exhibitions of upcoming and world-≠renowned artists next to temporary exhibitions based on the extensive collection of paintings, sculptures, photo≠graphy, installations, and video art. Among the permanently installed works are a monumental steel sculpture by Richard Serra, a Skyspace by James Turrell, and Leandro Erlichís Swimming Pool. Next to the estate youíll find an impressive sculpture garden, which includes major works by Anish Kapoor and Sylvie Fleury.
