Don’t worry, we are not confessing a deep ignorance in geography! We just noticed that some countries are not so represented in our Independent Collectors community, so we asked the few representatives of these areas where their fellow collectors are and if collecting contemporary art is so uncommon there!? Some very interesting answers came out, so we decided to open a new section of our discussions to talk about the local art scene of some countries. Come exploring them with us…
Online networking is fun, but why don’t we meet also in real life? In the past months we’ve organized special events on the occasion of international art fairs, but actually we don’t need to wait for a big excuse, we can meet just so, to attend an opening, or have a drink. This is the place on our platform where you can find, propose, organize meetings with other IC members in your town. As it can be difficult for IC to organize meetings in other cities, your help in organizing, setting time and place is very welcome, we'll support you where we can.
Conversations (rather than interviews) with IC members and other collectors, conducted by Tommi Brem.
Discuss artists, artworks, genres and more.
Have you recently seen an exhibition you want to recommend to others or just to talk about? Is there a particular artist whose work you deeply admire or maybe do not like at all? Let's discuss cases of doubt, flops and true highlights.
The question of all questions: What is art? Do we after all have to find an answer to this? Why do we think we need art? And what does art add to our personal life and well-being? Answers anyone (or more questions)?
In the real world, exhibitions in galleries get reviews. Now we invite you to review the featured exhibitions at Independent Collectors. What is your immediate response? Comments? Suggestions? Discuss it right here with the collectors.
