„4000“ (Thomas Egeler) is one of my favourite artists. He is a manic worker and puts out an enormous amount of artworks. Together with a handful of artist friends he invented in the late 80's „Cheap Art“, a movement towards the „untrained public“ who deserves original art (fair priced, not concept overloaded, with lots of humour involved). 4000 works in a „healthy distance“ to the art market, refuses to do someone else's tedious jobs e.g. being used for sponsoring etc. 4000 is best in giving great titles to his works, that cast a critical but often laughing eye to contemporary contexts. 4000 is smart, 4000 is pop, 4000 is 4000. These works on paper belong to a neverending series about famous german Beck's Beer. Have fun!
