When in walked into the „Kunstsalon 2008“-exhibition in Berlin i was deeply impressed by the monumental work/installation of Leo Stern. A dark room filled with sculptures of oversized ants. „Das Volk“ (People) he named his work and it struck me by the symmetry and this tensions between the collective and individual. Some days later at a birthday party i saw an invitation card of Leo Stern pinned to the wall, just to find out that he was there. We had a long talk and i told him about Independent Collectors as a good platform to introduce his work.
