PEAC – The Paul Ege Art Collection
A place where abstraction meets quiet reflection

The Paul Ege Art Collection is the culmination of a lifelong passion shared by the Freiburg entrepreneur and art patron Paul Ege, who passed away in 2019, and his wife Helga. Today, the Paul Ege Art Collection (PEAC) is one of Europe’s most comprehensive collections in the field of color painting, including additional works representing Minimalism and Conceptual Art. The mission of the collection is its preservation and accessibility to a broad audience through presentations in continually changing contexts, ensuring that it remains dynamic and alive.
Since 2004, the Paul Ege Art Collection has been housed and exhibited at the PEAC Museum. The museum is situated in Freiburg on the premises of the Alexander Bürkle company, run by the fourth generation of the Ege family. The exhibition spaces span approximately 1,000 square meters. What began as the passion of a single individual has, over the past two decades, developed into a venue open to the public. The museum is dedicated to fostering dialogue between pioneers of art history and international representatives of contemporary (abstract) art.
PEAC Museum pursues the ambition of establishing itself as a unique venue for in-depth art contemplation, dynamic participation and curiosity, as well as a place to retreat and slow down. Its vision is to create an experiential space in which the web of relationships between artwork, space and viewer plays a special role, in which the ability to perceive both the self and the world is sharpened.
