Housed in an apartment close to the Retiro park, Madrid, it includes paintings, mixed media, sculptures as well as works on paper. Here, Daniel and Ana share works from their growing collection.
“We started the Garzon Garcia Collection when I acquired our first painting as an engagement present for my wife. Primary it started with some realistic paintings and modern abstract Spanish and Latin American artists, but currently it is focused on emerging artist with international projection. When acquiring works, we work with galleries, secondary market and benefit auctions.
Geometrical abstraction tend to be the main plot of the collection, with hints of surrealism, sometimes of constructivism other times of conceptualism creeping in. For us it is important to think that every work represents a special moment in the life of each artist.
Some of the artists featured in the Garzon Garcia Collection are David Ostrowski, Kadar Brock, Margo Wolowiek, Parker Ito, Sam Falls, Dean Levin, Roberto Matta, Oswaldo Guayasamin, Federico Herrero and many others.”
