On the occasion of this year’s Venice Biennale Independent Collectors spoke with collector Antonio Dalle Nogare from the ADN Collection about which pavilions and specific art pieces stood out for him and why.

What pavilion did you particularly enjoy and why?

ANTONIO DALLE NOGARE

I particularly enjoyed visiting the Romanian Pavilion; this year it hosts a rich retrospective on one of the best painter of our times. Sometimes as a collector I feel that painters do not have much left to say in the contemporary art world, but this time I was proven wrong. The paintings that hang in the Romanian Pavilion show us that this technique can still inspire and move viewers, more than I believed possible.

It’s also true that the technique that this particular artist uses is very close to the sculptural practice, as well as also being deeply influenced by the aspect of chance.
