Museum Liaunig

Since its opening in the summer of 2008 the Museum Liaunig, located in the Austrian village of Neuhaus, has continued to grow.

Designed by the Viennese architectural team querkraft, the Museum Liaunig is embedded in the southern Carinthian landscape and provides more than 7 000m² of exhibition space as well as a long gallery section, offering breathtaking views of the landscape from its terraces. With most of the exhibition rooms located underground, the museum houses the more than 3 000 work strong collection of Herbert W. Liaunig who assembled one of the largest collections of Austrian art. The museum exhibits prominent works of national and international artists of contemporary art such as Hubert Scheibl, Josef Pillhofer and Tony Cragg in rotating exhibitions as well as a selection of richly decorated ceremonial objects made up of glass beads from various ethnicities in West and Central Africa.

For IC the Museum Liaunig shares images of their most recent exhibition “Augen-Blicke” as well as former installation shots, pictures of artworks from their permanent collection among images of the museum’s architecture.
