Founded by Piero and Rossella Bisazza, the Bisazza Foundation spans over 7500 m2 with a large portion of the exhibition space going to the subnational permanent collection which consist of installations created by designers such as Tord Boontje, Aldo Cibic, Sandro Chia, Jaime Hayon, Arik Levy, Alessandro Mendini, Fabio Novembre, Mimmo Paladino, Andrée Putman, Ettore Sottsass, Studio Job, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders, and from May 2013, Richard Meier.
Originally intended to be an exhibition space that brings together works and installations by contemporary designers, artists and architects, the Foundation is also regarded as a cultural hub where interaction with international institutions is made in order to host projects and exhibitions.
Out of the main permanent exhibition space more than 1000 m2 is given to travelling exhibitions and installations by internationally renowned designers, produced by the Foundation or developed in collaboration, on tour from foreign institutions. The Foundation’s aim is to interact and create dialogue with other foundations and museums of design and architecture, creating a network for the presentation of unique projects in Italy.
In 2015 a new exhibition area, entitled “Architectural Photography”, was added to the Foundation Permanent Collection. On display, works by Berenice Abbott, Eugène Atget, Gabriele Basilico, Roland Fischer, Candida Höfer, Julius Schulman and Hiroshi Sugimoto.
