In the world of collecting there are some things that just aren’t as easy to collect as others. Here, we look at how you can go about collecting the difficult and sometimes seemingly impossible. Featuring interviews with collectors, gallerists and art world insiders, we show you that even the impossible can be collectable, and that it can even open new doors to a world of collecting that you never even knew existed.
How are you meant collect something that has an expiry date? What happens if it melts? Can you eat it? As children we are often told “don’t play with your food”, but what about “don’t collect your food”? Tainá Guedes, a Brazilian chef and CEO and curator of Entretempo Kitchen Gallery, is someone that knows the answers to these questions. Only exhibiting artists that work with food, and often hosting vernissage’s where you cook your own meals, Guedes understands the issues with working with food, both culturally and socially.
In an exclusive to IC, we share images and works from Guedes’ gallery.
Collectors and private initiatives are the main supporters of our space. Without their support it would not be possible to keep growing and developing ideas that are mainly not commercial, but rather meaningful for our environment and society.
At the Entretempo Kitchen Gallery, we have done several dining experiences that connected art and food. Within this context, I bring my expertise as Chef and artist to curate experiences around food.
