Located in a historical private loft in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, The Kuhn Collection’s main focus is to present its passion for showcasing a diverse range of art mediums by an eclectic list of artists.
Dominated by innovative contemporary art that has an emphasis on conceptual, installation and new media, the Kuhn Collection is the private collection of Berlin-based collectors Michael Kuhn and his wife Alexandra Rockelmann. When acquiring new works, Kuhn & Rockelmann work with the belief that when collecting new artworks, it is not the name nor the CV of an artist that is important, but instead it is the expression of the works and the influences behind the artists works. The collection mainly generates art works through international art fairs, gallery exhibitions and the personal contact that Michael Kuhn and Alexandra Rockelmann have to artists. It is this way of acquiring works that the Kuhn Collection is able to discover fascinating art that in a way, acts as a sort of permanently influencing roommate. Some of the artists featured in the Kuhn Collection are: Yasmin Alt, Joseph Beuys, Sebastin Biskup, Thomas Demand, Max Frey, Kai Franz, Günther Förg, Johanna Jaeger, Florian Japp, Jeffrey Teuton, Leslie Thornton and many more.
