Collector couple Bruna Girodengo and Matteo Viglietta both share a passion – an unquenchable thirst to learn about collecting art.

The pair, who initially purchased a collage by Giacomo Balla from 1918, soon turned their attention to art from the 1960s to present day, with a particular focus on Minimal Art, Conceptual Art and Arte Povera. Today, the Collezione La Gaia includes over 1 200 artworks from significant Italian artists such as Alighiero Boetti, Giuseppe Penone and Michelangelo Pistoletto placed in “conversation” with contemporary works from Anish Kapoor, Tony Cragg and Bill Viola to name just a few.

Collecting without “criteria or order” and without favoriting medium or creative approach, the Collezione La Gaia is a true representation of what transpires when you collect due to courage and follow your heart and gut.
